Kyle is a PhD candidate in philosophy at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on the political implications of social media platform design, in particular, how algorithms create or contribute to the formation of online echo chamber. He applies a broadly liberal approach that recognises both the (a) moral responsibilities of corporations and individuals in dealing with echo chambers and (b) the moral constraints on solutions (i.e., respecting the autonomy of internet users). He also works on the nature of paternalism and has interests in bioethics.

Kyle is affiliated with the MINT lab and is a doctoral scholar at the Institute for Ethics in AI at the University of Oxford. He has an MPhil in philosophy from the University of Cambridge and an MA in philosophy from the University of St Andrews (in Scotland).
