Cameron Pattison is a PhD student at Vanderbilt University specializing in AI ethics and philosophy of mind. His work challenges the assumption that human cognition is categorically unique, exploring the implications of advanced AI’s computational capacities for moral philosophy and the ethics of intelligence. His recent projects include a paper that examines the normative distinctions between human and artificial reasoning, and a historical analysis of Islamic-Aristotelian philosophy for the Springer Studies on the History of Philosophy of Mind. Cameron collaborates with scholars across disciplines, from Classics to Computer Science, to address the ethical and epistemological dimensions of emerging technologies. Prior to Vanderbilt, he received an M.A. from Boston College in philosophy and a B.A. from Colorado College in philosophy with highest honors.
