Paper: 'AI Rule and a Fundamental Objection to Epistocracy' by Sean Donahue

In a forthcoming paper in AI & Society Sean Donahue argues that while common objections to epistocracy may not apply to AI governance, epistocracy remains fundamentally flawed. He shows that such a system would deny peoples the opportunity for collective moral achievement. This insight provides us with a novel reason to value democracy and guidance on how to incorporate digital technologies into politics.
